U.S. Department of Education (DoEd) Grant Awards and Institute of Education Sciences (IES) awards
Recent DoEd awards are announced on this page. The easiest way to find a list of awards for a particular program is to use the "Awards" link in the blue box at the top of the program page (example). If you want to search by some other criterion, such as the recipient location, you can use the USASpending.gov Advanced Data Search. Choose "Grants" under "Spending Type," the fiscal year(s) of interest under "Fiscal Year," and "Department of Education" under "Awarding Agency" (near the bottom of the form). You can then add additional search criteria, such as the recipient state or the CFDA number for a grant program. (CFDA numbers for Department of Education programs begin with 84.)
Grant award histories for Institute of Education Sciences (IES) programs can be found in the IES Funded Research Grants and Contracts database. (IES awards are also listed in the USASpending.gov database, but the project abstracts in the IES Research Grants and Contracts database are more detailed.)

USASpending.gov
Brief reports on grants, contracts, and other federal awards from all agencies. Useful for obtaining information about R&D contracts for agencies that do not provide award databases (e.g., the National Transportation Safety Board), but records are brief, so individual agencies' awards databases are more useful for detailed information on grants.
