Burroughs Wellcome Fund
The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is an independent private foundation dedicated to advancing the biomedical sciences by supporting research and other scientific and educational activities within seven focus areas: Biomedical Sciences, Infectious Disease, Interfaces in Science,  Quantitative and and Statistical Thinking in Life Sciences, Reproductive Sciences, Science Education and Translational Research.
 
Golden L.E.A.F. Foundation
The Foundation awards grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofits and governmental entities across North Carolina. Golden LEAF's grantsmaking focuses on three priorities: agriculture, job creation and retention, and workforce preparedness.

The Foundation makes grants to nonprofit, tax-exempt, charitable organizations and institutions that are exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or to governmental units within the current focus areas: Community Economic Development, Strengthening Democracy, the Environment, Public Education, and Social Justice and Equity.
